PEAK WATER DEMAND STUDY
|
Data co-funding effort resulted in a statistically based probability model that would predict the peak water demand for single and multi-family dwellings having water-conserving plumbing fixtures. Report Water Demand Calculator |
Our Peak Water Demand studies updated methods to predict water usage peaks in single-family and multi-family homes using fixtures and appliances equipped with water-conserving technology. Based on real-world data from over 1,000 households, the study develops a statistical probability model and the Water Demand Calculator to accurately estimate peak demand. It offers valuable insights for engineers, plumbing professionals, designers, regulators, and builders to optimize plumbing system sizing, reduce construction and water heating costs, minimize environmental impact, and improve public health safety.
