THE DANGER OF COUNTERFEIT FILTERS
|
The purpose of the study was to investigate if counterfeit filters illegally using a manufacturer’s logo passed testing requirements of certification claimed made. Full Report |
Our Counterfeit Filter Dangers study investigates whether counterfeit water filters meet certified performance standards. The research tested illicit POU filters for contaminant removal under NSF/ANSI criteria, revealing frequent failure to reduce lead, mercury, and other contaminants and, in some cases, adding additional harmful contaminants to the water. By exposing these risks, the study aids regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and water treatment manufacturers in enforcing quality control, protecting public health, and mitigating hazards associated with fraudulent water filtration products.
