Full Report
Our Boil Water Notices study presents the first comprehensive United States database detailing causes and trends of boil water notices issued by public water systems between 2012 and 2014. The research analyzes microbial contamination, infrastructure failures, and operational issues that contribute to boil-water events. This in-depth study benefits public health officials, utility operators, regulators, and community leaders by providing data-driven insights, risk management strategies, and preventive solutions to enhance drinking water safety and reduce boil-water advisories.
Summaries and educational materials (toolkits, handouts, infographics, etc.) are publicly available resources, and the full scientific reports are free for Water Quality Association (WQA) members.

If you are not a WQA member, please contact [email protected] to inquire about access to the full report(s) of interest.
